Hello, Bobcats! My name is Blake Davenport, and I'm delighted to announce my candidacy for Vice President in the 2024-2025 ASG election.

 

I strongly believe that Saddleback College has incredible potential. Our campus is a unique and vibrant community with passionate faculty that aim to provide quality academic opportunities for all students. However, I've made it no secret that I believe Saddleback needs to change for the better. As current ASG Chief Justice, I’ve had the opportunity to pursue a diverse range of initiatives, such as campus housing, mental health awareness, and reducing class enrollment fees. I’ve had the responsibility of generating our first ASG Judicial Branch and will continue my political advocacy at our Washington D.C. conference this semester.

 

I'm also committed to ensuring that every student has equal access to the necessary resources for their well-being. This is why I plan on pursuing our menstrual product initiative that ensures free and accessible menstrual products on community college campuses. Additionally, I'm prepared to continue presiding over my fundraising club to support victims and refugees of the Israeli-Palestinian crisis. Collectively, let's continue to advocate for a community built on inclusivity, diversity, and opportunity.

Hi! My name is Mia Sanchez and I am running for Vice President. I am a first year at Saddleback and have been a part of ASG for a year as the administrative coordinator of Events/Campus Life.

 

Through my experience on ASG, I know I can help create an atmosphere that is enjoyable for all students while ensuring that all groups on campus are represented. My goal for next year is to bring awareness to issues and concerns students face, while working with ASG and our campus/district to build programs and resources that make navigating college an easier process.

 

I am determined and fully capable of taking on the responsibilities of this role and will work alongside all ASG representatives to make the most out of the following year!
