I have been a student at Saddleback since Fall 2018 and I've always been brainstorming ways our campus could be improved. I always loved the few environmentally conscious features we have here, such as the water refill stations and native gardens, but what if we were able to take it even further? Imagine a plastic-free campus with compost bins, and healthier, more sustainable choices at the cafeteria. What if we were able to install solar panels or create a carpool incentive? As Director of Campus Sustainability Council, these are just a few of the ideas I would love to discuss with our ASG. Although I have never been a part of the associated student government at Saddleback, I have leadership experience as president and secretary of several clubs in high school. I'm a business major with a heavy interest in environmental studies, so I feel confident in my ability to make these things happen. I would love to be a part of something bigger here and I'd love to help other students make a bigger impact too!

From a sociological perspective, students at Saddleback may see each other as a social category meaning people who do not interact but who share similar characteristics such as taking the same class or simply going to the same school. I don't believe this is the definition students should be leaving with. I don't want each student to leave this college knowing only a handful of people. I want to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where we no longer see each other as a stranger but rather become a group that knows each other's names and at the point of graduation looks back at the amazing memories we formed due to the connections we made here. Beyond the hopes I have for the future, I also want to continue what IDSC has established in the past and present. I want to be able to continue the actions this year's IDSC team has been working towards such as the progress made to make a meditation room as well as continuing our battle to create gender-neutral restrooms.

Equipped with my passion for people and backed by the educational pursuits (becoming a Real Estate Broker), it is a good fit to run for this position, as liaison from Saddleback College to the community at-large.

As Director of Inter-Club CouncilI will aim to become more involved in ASG coordinated events, making more connections and creating a more inclusive environment for all clubs on campus. I will become more involved and connected with clubs than any previous Director, aiming to specialize to clubs needs and make myself known and open to communication with every club on campus.

I am often seeking opportunities to get more involved in the Gaucho community, and I believe that becoming the Director of Honors Student Council will allow me to make a lasting impact at Saddleback. I aspire to help my peers take the next step in their education and provide students with the support and community engagement opportunities to do so. Joining the honors program has definitely been the best decision I’ve made at Saddleback and has continually challenged me to become a better person in and out of the classroom. Through my involvement in the honors program, ASG, and intercollegiate sports at Saddleback, I’ve developed strong leadership, organizational and social skills. I believe that the HSC should serve its community by recognizing exceptional students and acting on their opinions to make Saddleback a student-oriented campus. I hope that under my leadership, the HSC can create a community where all students can participate in various volunteer activities and will remember the impact they made during their experience at Saddleback. If you see me, whether it be in the LRC (I’m there a lot), at a track meet, or attending honors program events don’t be afraid to say hey!
