CANDIDATES FOR PRESIDENT
Major: Public Administration
SC Activities: Co-Founder of the Associated Student Government Affordable Housing Committee, ASG Director of Budget
Statement: As a Saddleback student, I want a community college that provides affordable education, opportunity, and creates unique and memorable experiences. As your next President of the Associated Student Government, I will work to complete these goals by ensuring the progress made by past administrations is continued with bold leadership. As Director of Budget, I have returned thousands of dollars back to the balanced and growing student government budget. I co-founded the Affordable Housing Committee and have worked to fund multiple on-campus student groups. I will serve the student body as an active and transparent advocate in creating a green campus, breaking down non-academic barriers, and improving student life. That means universal unlimited student bus passes, creating affordable on-campus student housing, and improving student utilities. I believe that we can accomplish these goals and progress our campus forward by unifying as one student voice. I would be honored to represent that voice and continue to work for our diverse campus by gaining your vote. ¡Sí, Se Puede!
CANDIDATES FOR VICE PRESIDENT
Major: Business Economics
SC Activities: VP of Administration for Alpha Gamma Sigma (AGS) Honors Society. Member of Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society. Executive Officer in Events Committee since Fall 2018.
Statement: My name is Nikhil Medukonduri but you can call me Nikki. I am a proud and active member of the Saddleback community, I am grateful for all the wonderful experiences I've had so far. I would value the opportunity to be ASG’s Vice-President so I can work towards bringing our community even closer together and improve student body participation in ASG activities. I will strive to work constructively with everyone in ASG to make students more involved in activities and be a champion for listening to the issues presented and developing employable solutions. If elected, I will affirm my full commitment to continue ASG's efforts towards a sustainable community and work towards fulfilling its goals. My knowledge of internal ASG processes, by-laws and procedures will prove valuable to ensure that the group operates smoothly. I humbly request that everyone cast their valuable vote and grant me the great honor to serve as ASG's Vice-President. I am excited to work with a dynamic, diverse, and energetic group of people in the upcoming year to make the Saddleback College student experience enjoyable and memorable.
Major: Applied Mathematics
SC Activites: President of Society of American Military Engineering of Saddleback College
Statement: I first joined the Associated Student Government in August 2018, and to be honest at the time I was really excited, but I lacked the necessary experience. However, thanks to my colleagues I managed to quickly learn about the ways of the ASG. After becoming the Director of publicity, I have improved many necessary skills such as communications, organizations, and leadership. I would be honored to continue my work in ASG as Vice President. We are fortunate to be part of Saddleback community. Saddleback college has a lot to offer, however there’s still room for improvement. For example, I am confident that with a little effort we could have a more environmentally friendly campus. Some other issues that I would like to work on are housing, charging stations for electric vehicles. My goal is to increase student participation on campus events, and bring awareness of existing issues.
CANDIDATES FOR DIRECTOR OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS

As the Director of Sustainability, it is my duty to ensure that Saddleback College is innovating and moving forward. Now I want to be your next Director of External Affairs. My main objectives would be to bring affordable housing, more forms of transportation, lowering the costs of tuition, bringing solar panels to our parking lot, and increasing our external presence with the city council of Mission Viejo. I also want to motivate more students to joining the student government to ensure that all voices are heard. I am asking for your vote to keep Saddleback College moving to the future. I would be humbled to be elected as your next Director of External Affairs.

Through serving as the campus’s Environmental Awareness Club’s Media Advisor, I have experience communicating to others the importance of being environmentally conscious. I plan to further this initiative through educating others on how they impact the environment, as well as how to reduce their global footprints. My project ideas range from obtaining solar charging stations, reducing single use plastics on campus, encouraging carpool programs, and promoting on campus composting. Protecting and enhancing the current state of our environment is something I am wholeheartedly passionate about, and plan to dedicate my life to through having a career in environmental law, policy, and planning. Through utilization of my ideas, drive to incite change, and overwhelming care for the environment, I hope to create a lasting positive impact on Saddleback’s level of campus sustainability.

CANDIDATES FOR DIRECTOR OF INTERNATIONAL AND DIVERSITY STUDENT COUNCIL
THIEN H NGUYEN
Major: Architecture; Minor in Environmental Design
SC Activities: Pre-Law Society, President of Collaborative Arts Club, Board Member on Angels for the Arts
If I was elected as the Director of International Diversity Student Council, I would uphold the meaning of the position-- to promote, support, and encourage the diversity at Saddleback College. To me, diversity is not defined by the color of your skin, but your unique heritage, characteristics, and personalities in which you bring to our community. From already serving on this council, I can tell you one truth-- change is possible for the better! Your voice and concerns matter to IDSC and I. Being a proud Vietnamese-American, I can acknowledge the hardships that our students face on a daily basis. In order to help ease their struggles, for this upcoming year, my goal is to continue: promoting acceptance, stopping stereotyping, and curbing discrimination on our campus. Even though we are just a community college, we have the ability and opportunity to create a safe haven for all students who want to be themselves without fear and judgment from others.
CANDIDATES FOR DIRECTOR OF HONORS STUDENT COUNCIL
Major: Environmental Studies, Minor in Spanish
SC Activities: Environmental Awareness Club Co-President, Pre-Law Society, Pathway to Law School, Alpha Gamma Sigma and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Societies, Honors Program, EOPS, C.L.A.S.E
Statement: Being a first generation college student and choosing to return to school after nine years definitely comes with hurdles. I am a non traditional student that is independent, balancing full-time work while maintaining my honors status at Saddleback College. Though this journey has not been met without conflict, it has molded me into who I am. It has facilitated my growth and pushed me to my limits, showing me how resilient I am.
Though there is no set route in navigating the waters that is community college, the journey is not meant to be done by oneself. It’s a unique road that can be overwhelming. Much of the success I have had is attributed to the invaluable support that I have received through my experiences here on campus. I have been able to take a proactive approach to my undergraduate studies. Through this, I know I have the necessary foundation that is needed to pursue an elite education. I advocate for others in creating a safe space to dream big. I am a believer in the power of a community college beginning. I regard we are worth having the same opportunities as our traditional counterparts. Shoot for the stars!
Major: International Business
SC Activities: Current Officer of Volunteering for Honors Student Council, Member of Alpha Gamma Sigma, Member of Honors Program
Statement: Hi I’m Kelley Green, a full-time student majoring in international business and I’m running for Director of HSC. I am currently serving in HSC as Volunteer Chair and have had the opportunity to serve within Honor Student Council familiarizing myself with the organizations past, and presently working with the entire HSC council to promote membership and educate all students what we can offer while planning a bright and dynamic future. I have worked closely with the current HSC Director and know firsthand what it takes to be successful in the position. Our focus will continue to make the Saddleback College experience memorable for the Honors Students at our school, as well reaching out to the General Student population to educate them in what we can offer all who qualify. Under my leadership, we would continue to have fun outreach events like our annual Carnival we had in February giving all students an opportunity to learn about our organization and benefit from the many services we offer to assist in their academic careers. As Director, my main focus will be to assist students and provide help within my role. My goal is to make the college experience at Saddleback as convenient and stress free as possible, and voting for me, we will do just that.
