REQUIREMENTS & ELIGIBILITY

Please be aware that all ASG members:

 

  • Must enroll in at least 5 units at Saddleback College during the fall and spring semesters.

  • Must maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA.

  • Must participate in the ASG committees that are tied to their position, the committee/council names in parantheses. ex: Officer of Publicity for Events Committee must attend Publicity Committee AND Events Committee meetings

    • If you are unable to attend both meetings, still fill out the application as we are changing the structure of ASG in the near future

  • Must purchase an ASG Sticker each semester.

  • Must have Saddleback College as their college of record.

  • Must maintain satisfactory attendance at ASG meetings, events, and activities. Must be able to commit a minimum of 2.5 hours a week to meetings ready and

  • You must be able to attend all the position-required meetings. All candidates must be semester to participate in ASG events/ Task Force search.

  • All ASG members are expected to spend time outside of their allotted meeting. 

  • All ASG members are expected to commit a minimum of 5 hours a week to complete their position's duties, but will often be 5-15 hours per week to complete their position's duties on their own time. (This does not include the hours spent volunteering for ASG Events or the mandatory meetings.)

 

REQUIREMENTS & ELIGIBILITY

For ASG Directors:

  • Every Director of ASG is required to volunteer a minimum of 5 hours per month and must be able to commit a minimum of 15 hours per week for their duties listed in the position description document.

  • Every member must currently be enrolled at Saddleback College with a minimum of five units of credit.

  • Saddleback College must be the student member’s college of record.

  • Every member must currently have and maintain a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 throughout the entire term of office.

  • Each director of ASG that chairs a committee/council is allowed four (4) total absences; two (2) absences per committee/council and two (2) absences for board meetings. Using an absence for a committee/council meeting entails having an Administrative Coordinator chair the meeting, failing to post the agenda on time, or cancelling the meeting.

  • Each director of ASG without a committee/council shall be allowed two (2) board absences.

MANDATORY AVAILABILITY:

 

ASG Members must be available for:  

  • Two 1 hour weekly committee meetings (meeting times vary by committee and along each position title in parantheses is the committee/council they must report to)

  • All ASG Meetings (once per month) - TBD (usually the first Friday of each month)

  • Attending Summer Training Session (likely weekend before school starts)

 

These are the basic requirements for membership. Each position requires further duties and obligations. Refer to the ASG Bylaws for more information regarding each position.
